Whether you believe it or not....
Simulation theory isn't the point here — it's the frame.
Whether or not reality is literally a simulation, it behaves like one in a useful way: it keeps giving you the same signal until you notice it.
A repeating argument.
A belief you've never actually questioned.
A feeling you react to before you even register having it.
Those are the clues.
This assessment measures how many you're actually catching.

What it measures
5 skills.
Everyone has all five.
Your assessment shows where each one actually stands.

Belief Awareness
Recognizing which of your beliefs you actually chose, and which you just inherited

Attention Awareness
Noticing where your attention actually goes, not where you meant to put it

Pattern
Awareness
Spotting the same lesson showing up again in a new disguise

Observer Awareness
The gap between a feeling and your reaction to it

Curiosity Awareness
Staying open a little past the point where most people close the door
What This Actually Costs You
(Real research, not a manufactured statistic — see sources below)
Attention:
You sit down to do one thing. Twenty minutes later you're doing something else, with no memory of switching. That's not just a feeling — research out of UC Irvine found it takes an average of 23 minutes to fully refocus after a single interruption. A handful of those in one day, and most of it is gone before you've chosen anything on purpose.
Reactions:
UCLA neuroimaging research found that simply naming an emotion — "I'm anxious about this," instead of just feeling it — measurably calms the brain's threat response. That gap between a feeling and your reaction to it isn't a metaphor. It shows up in a brain scan.
Belief:
Confirmation bias — noticing what confirms what we already believe, and overlooking what doesn't — is one of the most replicated findings in psychology. It's not a flaw specific to certain people. It's a documented default of how belief works, for everyone, until something interrupts it.
Repetition:
Research on habit formation estimates that close to half of what people do in a day isn't a conscious decision at all — it's automatic, repeated behavior. The "pattern" this skill is about isn't rare. It's most of an average day.
The assessment doesn't tell you what's true in general — it gives you your own number.
You've done the personality quizzes. This one measures 5 awareness skills you can actually train — and shows you which one is costing you the most.

What happens if you don't take it
The same belief stays unquestioned.
The same argument repeats, wearing a slightly different outfit.
Your attention keeps drifting into the same gaps without you noticing the gap at all.
None of that is a crisis — it's just what happens by default, for everyone, until something interrupts the pattern.
This assessment is one honest way to interrupt it.
Not because skipping it costs you anything measurable — it doesn't — but because noticing where you actually are isn't something you can do by accident.
🚫Autopilot
🎯Aware
What's running
Beliefs go unquestioned. Attention drifts without you noticing. Reactions arrive before you know you're having one. The same pattern repeats in a new form.
You catch a belief before it goes unquestioned. You notice attention drifting and can redirect it. You spot the pattern before it fully repeats. There's a beat of space between a feeling and your reaction to it.
Day to day
Not a crisis — just days where you didn't choose much of what happened in them.
Not perfection — just more days that actually feel like yours.
Where you already are: somewhere on the way from Autopilot to Aware. The assessment shows you exactly where — and which of the five skills to start with.
Which one are you?
Your results place you as one of 5 Avatar Profiles

The Sleeper
(25–49)
Life is happening to you more than with you right now — reactions run on autopilot, and the moments that mattered most tend to slide by unnoticed until later. That's not a flaw. It's exactly where everyone starts.

The Questioner
(50–74)
The clues are starting to land. You're catching things you used to miss entirely — you just haven't built the habit of acting on what you notice yet. The awareness is real; the practice hasn't caught up.

The Seeker
(75–94)
You're not a passive observer anymore — you're actively in it. Reflecting, questioning, adjusting. Awareness is becoming a habit instead of an accident, which is exactly the stage where real change starts compounding.

The Decoder
(95–109)
You've stopped seeing isolated insights and started seeing the system underneath them — beliefs, patterns, attention, the way you react, all connected. You're not just noticing the characters on screen anymore. You're seeing the code.

The Reality Weaver
(110–125)
Prompt. Allow. Tweak. That's the whole loop — you give reality a clear direction, let it do some of the work instead of forcing every step, and adjust as new information comes in. Less white-knuckling, more steering something that's already moving toward you.
None of these is a better score than another — the assessment isn't ranking you against other people, it's showing you where you are right now. (Genuinely — the lowest-scoring profile above is introduced in-app as "exactly where everyone starts," not a failure state. That's not marketing copy, it's just how the results are actually written.)

No Gurus. No Corporate Teams. Just Me.
I built Wake Up From Sim by myself based on the knowledge I acquired—nights and weekends, no massive company behind me.
I did it because I couldn't find a single tool that treated "waking up" as a practical, measurable skill. Everything else out there felt like a vague personality label.
The Reality Check:
• No fluff: I'm not a psychologist, and there is no panel of academic experts here.
• Real testing: Just a lot of time spent figuring out what these 5 skills actually look like in real life.
• The result: An honest, no-BS tool built to decode exactly where you stand.
Are you a Seeker, a Decoder, or something else entirely? Take the assessment to find out.

Stop Guessing Where You’re Stuck!
If you've already read the books, tried the journaling, or sat with a therapist—this isn't going to give you another lecture on why self-awareness matters.
You already know that.
What this is built to do instead is name, specifically, the one or two places you're actually stuck right now.
No more vague guesswork. A clearer picture.

FAQ
Not exactly — personality tests describe a fixed type. This measures five skills, which means it can change as you practice them. Your Avatar Profile is where you are, not who you are.
You'll see your Avatar Profile immediately, free — your archetype and what it generally means. A deeper, fully personalized report (your exact scores, your blind spot, a concrete next move) is available after, if you want it.
Yes — just your email, at the start. That's how your results and retakes get tied back to you; no separate account or password needed.
No — every result, including the lowest-scoring one, is written as a starting point, not a verdict. There's no version of this that's designed to make you feel bad about where you are.
No — and that feeling is just another clue, not a verdict. The assessment measures where your attention, beliefs, and patterns stand right now, not how long it took you to get here. Someone taking this for the first time at 60 is doing the exact same thing as someone retaking it at 25: noticing something they hadn't noticed yet.
